The generation we are in, web forms the backbone. The WebPages are created by using HTML and CSS (Hyper Text Mark-up Language and Cascaded style sheets). The contents on the web are posted or written with the help of Html, which is basically a scripting language. Besides WebPages, it is also used in CD-ROMs, eBooks etc. So, in this context the scope and career option is immense. VMware training courses, a certified leader in virtualization software, provides assistance as well as technical guidance to nurture and instill the knowledge as well as expertise that’s necessary to transform I.T sector.

Five useful CSS and HTML tricks as follows:

1.    Developing a page layout

To build a basic page’s layout using HTML and CSS, the layout must be having header, two columns, navigation bar and footer. The arrangement of these leads to three types of layouts. The navigation can be placed on top, side and with promo boxes.

Generally, the main content wrapper is set on the centre with the left and right column floating. The two columns along with the wrapper have width style set. The header, navigation and footer are set in a way to prevent floating.  To show the layout structure clearly, some background colors can be applied.

2.    By using HTML codes and CSS codes, image can be rotated in any angle. Steps included are :

First, set the img element to display as a block-level element.
Secondly, use a set of proprietary CSS properties for Firefox, Internet Explorer or any other browsers to rotate the images 270 degrees. These browsers allow for a fine degree of rotating elements and not just at 90-degrees.
Finally, the images are rotated leaving the first image unaltered.
In cross-browser rotation, Microsoft’s Basic Image filter property can rotate in only four stops.

3.    Adding rounded corner

The corners of layout elements can be rounded using cascade style sheet level 3 (css3). This can be done by using the new Windows Internet Explorer 9.

4.  You can make your website layout more compelling by creating multiple background images.

First of all you have to set a background that will be the first layer and on which numerous images can be layered using CSS or CSS3. There are several types of layout out of which one can be attained by the following steps:

Add a background image to the <html> as well as the <body> tag.
Add a background image to the <body> tag, and then create a <div> container inside the <body> tag with the other background image.
Using CSS3, add multiple background styles to the <body> tag.

5.    To make the website printable using CSS

Printing the webpage directly results in wasted amount of space by displaying many unnecessary contents like banners, advertisements and others. Therefore, most developers give a link at the end of the page that is written as ‘printable version’. However, using CSS media types is a better way for printing of WebPages.  These media types have number of elements such as:

A banner across the top
Navigation menu on the left side
Main content in the centre
Advertising and other content on the right side
Footer across the bottom

These media types hide the number of unnecessary contents. And shows you in the print preview how the page will look after printing.
